Do you think in the next generation of game consoles the big companies will care about providing retro games, or will they refer back to past consoles (ps3 can play most ps1/ps2 games, xbox one can play a lot of xbox 350/og xbox with upscaled graphics too)

On the Wii U there was potential that was never lived up to, but on the PS4 it's fucking worthless. Touch controls should stay off of gamepads, period. Reminds me that the Vita has the tracking pad on the back of it which again was pretty worthless (though a couple of smaller ones could have made for decent L2/R2 replacements).

I wanted to hate it, I really did....However, it does amazingly well for 3rd person action games. The amount of customization is inundating even now 3 years later, but when you get it figured out for specific genres of games, it is outstanding. The right pad is not just a right pad, it is also 8 buttons. Both at the same time. The dpad is not just a dpad. It too is 8 more buttons. Its not retro in the least bit, but imagine playing Dark Souls and never having to move your thumbs of the pad and stick ever.

Not him but I have it set up so that the paddles on the back turn the camera and gyro also controls the camera. This way I never touch the right touchpad for camera controls at all and can have my right thumb on the buttons at all times. Gyro is also great for aiming bows and spells of course.

I use them for 2 hand/1 hand hold (L3) & Run/jump (R3).

Also, I apologize. I really thought this was /v/. There was a whole bunch of switch and ps4 threads going on. Why on earth would this be happening, I don't know.

I did't buy a PS4 this gen cuz none of the games got my attention, the only one was DQXI but since that one is coming to the Switch may as well wait a couple of years get a switch with DQXI and call it a day, and even so if they decide to add all of the extras from the Switch to the PC version i will just get that.
I can play any retro game i want including PS2 games, short on XBox games but for now they aren't a priority for me.
