Sonic R, it's actually a pretty impressive looking game and the physics are only off-putting because they were intended for an F1 racing game and the concept of having to use the brakes in a game about running just seems weird.

Eternal Champions is a frustrating mess as a fighting game, but there's a lot of work put into the concept and characters

Takeshi's Challenge is actually pretty funny.

ET is actually a really ambitious and complex early adventure game that people tend to disregard because some mechanics are not especially intuitive. Anyone studying the origins of action/adventure game design should check it out.

I always feel that if you spent enough time mastering it, it becomes a god tier game. No idea if it's true, but it seems that way.

This isn't a good game in the sense of the word, but is fun to just fuck around with the physics.

Its one of 5he hardest fighting games, but its worth it to learn how to play, especially on the sega cd version. Mortal kombat fatalities got nothing on it.

This game's artistic direction is incredible. It's one of the few games where I can say nothing else really looks quite like it without the caveat of "It's disgustingly abstract."

Honestly I found it washed out and unappealing.

If it weren't for the motion sickness-inducing framerate, this would actually be a solid NES platformer.

Game is pretty meh, but the opening narration is done by Michael Dorn (Star Trek's Worf). He does a good job of it too, doesn't sound phoned-in.

It's a ferrin version.

Paper Mario is probably a decent RPG on a system that was bereft of them, but I don't have patience for turn-based RPGs anymore, especially a kiddie version.

I should have expected this response, but it shouldn't be that difficult to relate to. I played it only a few years ago, yet this game was clearly meant for kids, and I, like a lot of people, are sick of turn-based RPGs. I dropped Bravely Default fairly quickly for that reason, and that's a game that has much better combat compared to Paper Mario. This isn't a knock on turn-based games, at least in principle, but I don't see how anybody past the age of fifteen could not be tired of games that, at least for the first few hours, are "press X/A to win."

Come on dude. Paper Mario is one of my favorite games of all time but its pretty kiddie, both in tone and difficulty. Doesn't stop me from loving it but it's a very valid criticism.
