There's really no reason to play the Dreamcast version if you want to play online. I think the private servers of PSO Blue Burst (the PC port) are the ones with a lot of people still playing.

It’s not that hard to really get the Dreamcast online. You can use the *pi option or get a bba. There is a community on Dreamcast that used to play quake and other games online on certain game nights. You should check it out

Yes. It’s pretty sweet but with a catch. There are a few games that aren’t compatible with vga. Even if you “patch” their code to allow vga to work, it just won’t display on 480p. To avoid this, run rgb out or svideo for the best outside vga quality

The GOG version works without a hitch. There's also the Rainbow Six Black Ops fan-mod which resorts to black magic by combining both the original RS and Rogue Spear into the same game, along with all expansions, and Missions in Korea, and makes it compatible for modern systems. It is slightly glitchy (on the dam level, I consistently fall through the stairs on a certain part of the map, and the AI seems to make that level impossible for me to pass, or I might just be bad). I have no idea about the legality of it, but it works:

I’ve had random graphical oddities with the GOG version. I’ve tried a lot of stuff, but I’ll give this a shot too. Dreamcast just provides a less head ache inducing version with awful controls though.

I have over 40 games and only Bangaio (and Sakura Wars 3 preview disc that comes with SW2) wont work in vga mode. Even Skies of Arcadia pal got codebreaker code to make it work in vga. Other games that wont officially support it can be tricked to work with switch trick.

Power Stone 2 is extraordinarily underrated. Expensive last time I looked though. JoJo fighting game is weird as shit but also pretty fun, even if you don't know the franchise. NFL Blitz 2001 is my favorite sports game ever.

Re2 on Dreamcast is arguably the best version besides the other pc version that’s made from unobtanium. On vga, it looks amazing. The re3 is great as well. Both are rivaled by the GameCube versions (re2 being on one disk) but I believe the fmv quality is slightly worse. Also, Dreamcast has unlockable costumes from the get go iirc

Seventh Cross Evolution is a pretty interesting game you should try. I don't even know if I'd call it really "good," it's just bizarre. It starts out as something semi-normal, and then it just turns into full blown weirdness.
Did any of you guys ever buy or rent this game? Even when I was 10-11, I thought the game was fun just based on how fucking weird it was.
If you've already played through the classics, I think you should try it.
