It feels like they took the leftovers from ff7 and some stuff they were developing but didn't finish and just glued it together with a side grind.

This could've been a cool story about being in the military industrial complex and seeing how it affected the world, and how that experience (destruction, death, loss) affected the main characters. Instead they dilute the interesting bits with a tacked on time witch and call it a day.

I barely remember anything from FF8. I stopped playing about halfway through disc 3.
I was basically trying to force myself to finish it, but ended up coming to the conclusion that if I'm not enjoying it at all why am I even wasting my time? Then I stopped playing and never looked back.
