Incorrect. Turok was so well received it spawned a bunch of sequels. The controls are arguably better than Goldeneye.

also I think it's one of the only good SP games by virtue of not being composed entirely of fart humor like the rpgs, ironic when they created the terrance and phillip show as a response to critics deriding the show for having nothing but fart humor

The RPGs are good and are more than fart humor. Just because farts are part of your attacks doesn't mean that's all there is to the game. It's like 25% tops.

also anyone have any ideas on how to make the FoV on the PC version not awful? Unlike Turok 2 it lacks a console so I can't just type in fov 90. I have managed to make it work on modern PCs via nglide, but still at 4:3.

Nonsense. Perfect Dark, Quake 1 and 2, Duke Nukem 64, Doom 64, The World is Not Enough (underrated), I hear the other Duke Nukem game is good as well which I need to check out. If anything it's Turok that aren't really straight fps games (apart from Rage Wars), they're more kind of a hybrid between fps games and puzzle/adventure, there's platforming and even collectathon elements to them at times. In other words Turok is a great series but I wouldn't exactly call them emblematic of FPS games.

The most effective weapon in the FPS shot a cow at you, and if it hit you got lodged in the cow's ass, the basic snowball can be pissed on for extra damage, the Terrance and Phillip dolls created toxic fart clouds, Kenny got killed at the end of the first chapter by being shat on by a giant turkey, there was a fucking toilet plunger weapon and moving your cursor on the menu made a fart sound.

You're being very selective about what counts as toilet humor.

you know, it's funny, back when Halo 1 came out and I didn't know anything about it I literally thought that I was playing a Turok sequel.

Safe to say that Turok was pretty far ahead of its time.

The /vr/ era south park games are nothing but toilet humor akin to the first seasons.
SoT and Fractured are more akin to the latest seasons in regards to humor and story.

I loved Turok 2. I never managed to finish a single level as a kid, though, since I'd get lost backtracking.

Still, had a lot of fun exploring and using the different weapons.
