Three things:
- A coaster always look better with supports beneath it, never let it touch the ground if you don't have too. Just lift the whole thing one tile (or lower the ground beneath it) and it will look much better!
- Try to use all momentum, you have enough speed for another element or two. Maybe a turnaround beneath the first one?
- All your turns are to the left, try to vary between left and right turns for a more interesting ride.

Holeee FUCK, I've literally just gotten in to OpenTTD the last week on a whim, looking for more management games for tablet/mobile, and goddamn its fun but how do I git gud?

>build a massive continent-spanning transport links (train, boat, HGV) to merge the only two Steel Mills on the map to the only Factory on the map
>spend about five years building this monster of a transit system, already making plans to turn it in to a 6-lane monster from 2
>spend ~10million on planting trees and bribing the local city to let me demolish five blocks so I can clear a path for the rail
>build a huge artificial landmass to fit this monster Terminus right in the centre of the city, destroying the natural lake system
>finally line up the subway tunnels to the factory station
>look to see if the route is successful
>first steel train gets to Foness Ridge factory
>its fucking closed down, 0 factories left on the map

Also, any good mods or whatever they're called? I got the zbase textures from watching some tutorials, but it might be fun to compete with a couple of AI or something?

Can somebody help me with OpenTTD?
Last time I played the game was like 6-7 years ago, and it seems like a lot has changed.

Seems like a shitload of vehicles were taken out of the game or something since then. Don't remember there literally being no road vehicles before 1950. Same goes with the boats. Seems like there's almost no options anymore.
Am I supposed to download packages for all of them?

How far back are you starting? As I recall, most road vehicles are introduced shortly before 1950. If you start before then, you might not have any available at all.
The game should be fully playable with just the default OpenGFX packages.

I was starting at 1900. It's perfectly playable, don't get me wrong, but I am missing a lot of variation. I also have no clue where the mail trucks went, so maybe something changed which I am not aware of. The variation that vehicles had before seems less.
Are there any good packages out there for road and water vehicles in particular?
