Mega Man 3 and 6 were the best, fite me.

Metal Blade broke Mega Man 2. MM4 was good, but a lot of the items and weapons were useless. Mega man 1 is tough, but can be beaten under an hour.

Everyone wants to forget 7 and 8.

To me, 3 & 4: best bosses, best music, best levels.

Just enjoy whatever Megaman game you like, though, but fuck dos Megaman.

yeah no, 7 is great after a first playthrough. 8 is average but better than 5 or 6.

Anyway you could ask everyone and every single person ranks MM games differently

3's honestly the only bad one. 8 isn't a Mega Man at all.

MM2 is comfort food and has the audio/visuals that made the series iconic. The rest are just mediocre rehashes, with X, Bass and MN9 having the only ounces of creativity.

Doubt: Why would anyone want to replay it? Toddler difficulty, gated progression (which goes against everything that is MM) and an out of place tough as nails final boss.

7 is good IMO. Fun levels and some of the best bosses in the series.
But I think it's best when you first play it. Discovering the secrets for the first time is amazing.
Still a fun playthrough, only criticism I can agree with is that you can only choose from 4 levels at first instead of the traditional 8, but eh.
I never understood the problem with Mega Man's bigger sprite. The levels are adequately proportionated based on his sprite.

For me, it's 8-bit style Mega Man 8 (earlier version, like beta 3.10).

Do hacks count? After buying a NES Classic controller, I've been playing a lot of MM hacks on my Wii U. Currently I'm having a lot of fun with Megaman 4 Voyage. It's slightly harder than a regular Megaman game, and has a lot of changes

3 has best music and that's like half of why the games were good in the first place.

I've been trying to beat Wily's Dream Space and Spirits of Hackers, but I'm stuck at Crystal Man's stage in the former and the first Mr. X stage in the latter. Both are solid hacks though.

7 is my favorite.
I don't mind the story slowing shit down just because everything else is so fucking good.
