Did Nintendo do this? lol, NO!
Sega placed game codes directly in the instruction manuals. No magazines, no 1-900 numbers, no wasted time.

Nintendo had its players waste months of their childhood kneeling in front walls waiting for tornadoes, or setting fire to thousands of trees in hopes of finding some man who gives a few Rupees? Pfffft!

Sega truly cared about us, and only wanted to be kind and generous.
