That's the point. If I want to play 'realistic' racing games, I would just drive a fucking car IRL.

Driving your shitbox to work isn't even remotely the same as actually racing in cars designed to go fast, if you think the two are the same then you probably have brain damage

This argument needs to be retired. It was first rolled out for sports games and it was bad then, too. You can't do these things at the level portrayed in the games without serious skill and/or personal risk... so, no, it's not the same.

I think it's a valid reason. It's also why Virtua Fighter isn't popular while the more anime-style fighters like SF, KoF and GG are. If people wanted realism they could just go outside.

I own CTR, with my copy acquired back in 1999. I'm a little bit surprised by the sudden veneration in the game because in the past it was only ever described as tech impressive for the PS1 and "solidly" designed but not a classic.

If I would harbor a guess as to the sudden interest in CTR, it would be due to Sony fanboys finding pride in Naughty Dog due to their status as Sony's prime AAA studio over the last decade and so everything in their library is correspondingly overrated with hindsight (you see similar phenomenons with bands that didn't have a break-out hit until their third album, suddenly people overrate their first and second albums).

That and people born in the late 90s treating the 1999 with blissful nostalgia. Of course, because it was never a true classic (unlike MK64 and DKR which were frequently talked about on /v/ even 10 years ago) nobody outside of the nostalgia group cares much for it.

>> No.5258902

>>5258495
This is the real correct answer. It's so good I'd say it's actually better than any of the Mario Karts.

Yes, dude. CTR has always been ignored, the remake made it good all of a sudden. Go suck a thousand niggers dicks, you disingenuous faggot. Nintendo has endured this long for one single reason, nostalgia.

All jokes aside, Sonic R is actually a pretty decent game once you learn how to play it, which is using an acceleration button and the shoulder buttons for braking, most try to play it like a 3D platformer by holding up on the D-Pad but it makes the game retardedly difficult to control properly. It's not an amazing game, but it's fun to run through in an hour.
