What did they mean by this?

I'm pretty sure the final level was the hardest part of the game. But anyway, you're kinda right about the tutorial, because anyone who didn't know English would be stuck on this part. Remember this was before the internet was so widespread. Most people in my city got stuck at "Slalom" (called "zig-zag" here) and "Brake Test" (accelerate as much as possible and brake).

theres probably 4 or 5 missions that are waaaaay harder than the tutorial (especially the last mission)

Not even close. It's a good tutorial as well. Only retards (and apparently third worlders according to this thread) couldn't get past it.

because the game is a spin off of the movie 1978 The Driver which both the movie and game had the garage mission

It's probably one of the most poorly implemented tutorial levels in video game history. I can see why a contrarian teenager trapped in the body of a 30 something year old man would pretend otherwise for hipster points.

tenchu 2 tutorial was pretty bad too

it's not a tutorial though, it's a timed challenge separate from the main game.

Yup. I love all the Tenchus up to the PS2, but that was a pretty bad tutorial. And the lack of music in the game really hurt it as well.

Not who you're replying to, but I'm of the opinion that it's an easy tutorial but very poorly presented. I didn't have troubles with it but I can see why people would.

>Remembered this post.
Even retarded ukrainian kid figured this shit out, kids are quicker to learn things

Passed it rather fast, the only mission giving me troubles were Jeriho I think.
The trick to president mission was to use attacking cars to gain speed and to counterattack.

I would either aim between cars and lamp posts, causing head on collision as well as stopping abruptly right after crest of the hill so attackers fly over me or would line up in direction I want to go more or less and let myself be hit.
Since you fly 300m easily after being hit no one else will attack you midair and often taking little damage to get airborn lets you avoid bigger dammage.
Combination of all those methods and I won.
Now that I wrote it I wonder would I do the same now when I am older

I loved it way from the start. I still remember playing just the demo on some disc for fucking hours. And of course I played the actual game almost religiously, but still I could never finish the last mission despite how often I tried.

Driver 2 was even better and I just loved the atmosphere. I especially like how Reflection designed the more run down looking cities like Havanna and Rio. The last mission gave me actual nightmares, but despite Part 1 I finally actually finished it and loved every second of it.

I don't know how many hours I spend with Driver 1 and 2 just editing the often insane replays.

Driv3r gets a lot of shit nowadays and of course back than too. Yeah, it wasn't as good as Driver 2 and had lots of issues, but I still loved it with all it's flaws, especially with the botched and now very limited replay mode (limited in time and sometimes the replays fucked up big time).

Finally they fixed all the technical issues with Driver: Parallel Lines. That game was a technical marvel on the PS2. There was almost too much traffic going on on the streets and the game looked absolutely fantastic...

... but this game despite it's technical achievements IMO was utter shit. Worst Driver game ever, since they abandoned all the things that made the series great in the first place. I'd rather play Driv3r all day than this garbage. It doesn't even have a replay mode anymore, that was the trademark of the series ffs. They sacrificed it for better graphics.
