Looking at buying a few SNES classic mini systems. Is there any difference between the US and Europe versions aside from the color of the buttons, and shape of the system?

no

No, but make sure the controller cable length is long enough for where you're going to play and ensure you have a USB power outlet near to the console. You're really better off getting a pi.

No but cost and compatibility wise you’re better off buying a pi 3 with a snes case. You can even use the classic controllers with it if you want. But the emulation on these consoles is really just decent, and if you mod it with retroarch the interface is worse and less customizable than just a raspberry pi.

Holy shit stop shilling your shitty garbage here. Anon is probably an off boarder who wants a plug and play solution without editing batch files.

Goddamned pifags shitting yet another thread.
I don't even have particular arguments against using retropi, but the smugness is exasperating. That said, snes classic is still a fucking good package. For 70 euros you get two pads, which feel really good, and the interface is simple yet effective. Plus, hacking is really a foolproof process and retroarch works fabulously up until 16bit consoles/GBA.

Whoa I didn’t know they’re giving away Pi’s for free. And MicroSD cards. And gamepads. And HDMI cords. And a fucking computer you can download the iso on. And an internet connection... etc

Hi guys, thought I'd remind you about the RetroN and it's capabilities.

Physical cartridges for the true retro gamer
HD output
Affordable
Supports multiple systems
Looks chic
Takes up less space

And many more. I used to share my personal experiences on the board while talking about the RetroN, but in the past various stay-at-home luddites have seen fit to mock me. Bit I did want to champion superior hardware.

Any RetroN bros here?

It’s called being an adult, where you can spend your money as you wish.

I bought the SNES classic, modded it and I love it. Works great, great controllers and has every game I feel like playing. No headaches of a pi and having to buy controllers or use some fucking Xbox controller for NES games..

The hate for these is a meme in itself. Like really, arguing about giving money to Nintendo, a company that probably started gaming for most. Oh no! Better stick it to the man and keep my $80. Fuck off

Love my nes and snes classic. Hacked them immediately. Feels good having the old controller in my hand. Tried using pi but there always seemed to be weird lag issues or something

the cheapest raspberry pi where I live at least runs you 30-40 bucks. That is without controllers, storage related costs, heat dampener (not sure you would need them for emulating, but I don't have a single raspberry without one because it's hot here) and a case.

The only reason I emulate in a Raspberry is because I had one around because of work, you shouldn't give explanations for those 80 bucks because it's not even that much more expensive and you can mod it too + save the time setting up the raspberry
