References to either Gaming in the Clinton Years or the Retsupurae videos about Gaming in the Clinton Years. Mid 90s cable tv show called Flights of Fantasy had this amazing presenter called George Wood who often reviewed video games. He often got nearly everything completely wrong or he said something so bonkers that it was inexplicable. Also talked in a weirdly dry, monotone yet excited voice. Suggested Lara Croft should get Breast cancer (legit - he wasn't making a joke or anything,) thought anyone who didn't buy Donkey Country right now was stupid, and got bored halfway through a review of some racing game and started rambling about his idea of a racing game involving getting his wife to the hospital to deliver the baby.

Eventually some company called Navgtr started uploading a bunch of his reviews with little to no context other than adding a weird intro with an MS paint looking Bill Clinton Picture and called it 'Gaming in the Clinton Years.' No one knew about the Flights of Fantasy tv show and since it was the early days of YouTube his reviews were utterly inexplicable and unexplainable.

I discovered George Wood a long time ago. He had a public access show on Maryland TV called Flights of Fantasy where he would review games and even stuff like comic books. Eventually this evolved into him hosting other shows and mini-series like George Wood Lame Game Show. For anyone who's watched a lot of his stuff, you wonder what exactly was going on; he has all these kids come on the show, makes lots of cringey jokes, tells them he's going to show his asshole to them, etc. The truth is, George is actually a very funny and intelligent guy, and I genuinely think he did all of this stuff tongue-in-cheek. His deadpan delivery is his form of comedy, and he gets off on people thinking he was being sincere. From what I gather, he just brought friends and family into his comedy and liked to come up with crazy scenarios involving them.

He joined (or possibly helped form) NAViGTr, which is an independent review video game review organization, and they edited and uploaded his FF episodes into Gaming in the Clinton years. The company's website makes it seem like they're a huge and respected organization, but I've never heard amything about them outside of George Wood so they are conceivably some kind of front for another business, who knows.
The company later issued a statement saying George had died of drug overdose, only to later help host a party on a cruise ship which was for people to "party with the ghost of George Wood". He appeared in some videos in 2015 out of the blue and is believed to be alive but looks in poor health.

About a year ago, I decided i would try and contact George for the fun of it. I tracked down his business email with the company. Just said hi and how funny i found his work. About 2 weeks later I received an email from his alleged boss thanking me for my correspondance and telling me George would respond to me soon. I never received the response.

Needless to say, a funny and mysterious man.

Supposedly Flights of Fantasy started off as general nerd culture show mainly looking at comics and board games, which George was actually into, and they just went with the video game stuff despite his obvious ignorance. I don't think any full archives exist outside of the NAVGTR segments, this was bottom barrel public access stuff after all.

Slowbeef grew up and realized that after a certain point in your life spending all your time making videos insulting bad lets plays is about as sad as the people you’re mocking.

They also just got a bit too nice and you can tell they wanted to stop saying things that would actually hurt someone’s feelings. People going after and harassing lets players they made fun of apparently factored into them backing off from that kind of content.

Got some top tier cyberbullying comedy out of it all, but if they’re done with it then it’s for the best to just let it end. Don’t know a thing about sjw whatever and don’t care to find out, but 4chan tends to exagerate that sort of thing a lot.
