Master System is quite better than the NES, but NES had a quite better library / more money put into it.

>> No.5232850

Master had better/more platformers.
PC Engine had better/more shmups.

So it depends on your tastes.

Turbografx by far!
Turbografx is actually a 4th gen system that is able to stay competitive with the SNES, and Genesis.
The American Library has a very low rate of shovelware and the games dominate NES games with better graphics and sound.

The Master System on the other hand:
Inferior library with a fraction as many games as the NES
Inferior composite video output compared to NES with disgusting jailbars
Inferior controller with a poor Dpad and fewer buttons
Inferior audio with just a few squarewave channels, only 1/6 of games have FM synth which requires modding to get anyway

>> No.5232987

>>5232793
Depends on whether we're throwing CD games into the mix. Without them the Turbografx is lacking, but with them it stands proud with the 4th gen machines.
>>5232924
>The American Library has a very low rate of shovelware
That's because the system was full of terrible licensed games that would be a pain in the ass to bring over. Take those out and you mostly have arcade ports, which it was damn good at.

This retarded attempt at bait needs to end. Temp bans should be given to idiots that keep posting this (you, and only you are you dumbfuck). I suppose you called the SG1000 the Sega as well? Every single SMS said Master System on it. Even the original "Mark III" was never revered to as just 'Sega'. You probably refer to Genesis as Sega as well.

Contrary to popular belief, until the advent of the Sega Master System II, Sega did not call the console the "Sega Master System" in North America. Instead the console was referred to as the "Sega System"

Don't post segaretro as facts ever again. They can't even properly record how many polygons the 32x could do.

It was known as the Mark III at first you moron. Sega realized it didn't make sense as it technically was NOT a continuation of the SG-1000 like the MarkII was. Sega instantly branded it as the the Sega Master System instead of the Mark III. You can't even get the distinction of the several SG-1000 variations and SMS systems straight.

What you are attempting to say isn't even as bad as EVERYONE calling the NES a Famicom, it is like everyone calling it a CONTROL DECK.

"The Dragon's Curse" for TurboGrafx 16 on the left.
Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap" for the SEGA Video Game System on the right.
The difference? SEGA gives you twice as much gold. Also, Sega created the game first.

TG16 copied a lot of games from the SEGA System, but at least they had the sense not to name their machine SegaGrafx 16, since that would cause Sega to have to rename their system yet again, perhaps settling on the "Sega Power Base System", or the Sega Power On, Sega Cartridge Input, or Sega Reset Pause System.

The Turbo waan't released in the USA until around the time of the Genesis Launch. If you wanted to play Master System games then you just got a power base convertor for your Genesis.

Turbo is leaps and bounds better than the Master System and a good competitor to the Genesis.
