Did anyone else miss out on Dreamcast? Am I the only one?

I still don't know why exactly. I barely even saw anything about it in gaming magazines I got from the newsstand, I never really even knew it existed. None of my friends had a Dreamcast or had ever heard of it. I even rented a Jaguar one time and loved it because I didn't have a computer with a VGA card at the time and it was the only way I could play Doom, but Dreamcast just never came up.

I miss playing NES games on the Dreamcast.

Can someone at least explain Nights to me? I had a friend who was obsessed with DC and that game in particular, but I never understood the appeal

You didn’t “miss out.” You were spared.

This. I had a great disc that had all the best NES games on it. I still have it somewhere. Playing Mega Man 2 on your Dreamcast on a rainy winter day is so good.

It's a shitty score attack game, you collect blue balls, when you have met the blue ball requirement you run into the cage to get the idya (colored gem item), then you collect extra points and enter the gazebo in the middle of the level before time runs out. It's a lot simpler than it seems.
There's no Nights game on the Dreamcast.

Sure but we're talking about the dreamcast. The only way the dreamcast is related to that experience is the controller.

Bought it 9/9/99. Remember it vividly.

I loved that nesterdc disk with all the game screenshots, cheats and options built in. The game filtering options and random game button was just fucking awesome too

PS I didn't have money to buy a game for it so I sold plasma for the extra money. The NEET life was hard.

NesterDC. First time I ever beat Mega Man 1, working through the sloppy controls. Yellow Devil alone took over an hour while I restarted at the beginning; savescumming to the start of fight with everything full(even though I try to do everything buster only). I got the cart later for cheap. The Devil got railroaded on orignial hardware after I had consistent control. Honestly, because of the latency meme I got really good at nes platformers. I played ninja gaiden(after obiterating super metroid and nes batman) for the first time and got past 6-2 with less than 3 deaths for the whole run. I only ever knew people found it hard after watching speed runs years later.

I bought it a month after release in Australia and they STILL didn't have any games available. I had to buy Sega Rally (well, I didn't have to). It came with a demo disc that was pretty good for a few days at least.

plasma as in blood plasma, or plasma TV? because if you had a plasma TV in 99, you were rich as. I remember selling them in Myers (Grace Bros at the time) for 39,999. I thought the ticket was a misprint and it must be 3,999 but nope, 40K for a TV.

Welcome to /vr/ where we're doomed to talk about the same games and consoles for all eternity. What was your favorite part of Dual Orb 2? The Monster Trucks or the sniper rifles?

32x and CD fucked them over. Just think of what they could have come up with if they didn't waste all those resources on pig lipstick.
