Do you assign the dash to the shoulder buttons? Do you consider it cheating?

>> No.5172478

>>5172431
Yes, L. No, how is that cheating? Would you rather it be down+B?

>> No.5172485

Why would it be cheating what the fuck
And of course I do, X games are unplayable otherwise
Gotta dash fast

So you've never played Xtreme or Zero?

Yes. No. I used to claw hand it but I'm getting arthritis.

No, I just double tap to dash.

Zero games have it mapped to the L button. What are you talking about

You can still command dash off walls.

I can't believe they even have him wall-jumping in the comic. Is it such an iconic part of the series?

Fucking how? That's what the option is there for. I always assign Dash to R and I will never understand why that's not the default.
IMO, the default controls should be:
X = Shoot
A = Jump
R / L = Dash
Y = Next Weapon
B = Previous Weapon

I find it more natural to lay my thumb across the X and A buttons on a standard SNES controller. Laying it across Y/B requires angling my thumb, which is less comfortable.

I used to be a stubborn dickhead that would never remap controls so i used to play it standard, but years later when i played the Zero series and realized how nice L Dash was, i always change it L when i play now.

Interesting thread. I actually used to never do so but maybe its because I lack skill now but I can't play like that anymore. So I assign dash to a shoulder button now.

No, I just adapted and now regularly play these games with my thumb over all three bottom buttons, the tip of my thumb usually holding down □, and the joint able to easily press O and X.

Having dash on R feels the most natural to me.
It's not cheating, more like a preference I guess? To some people it might feel more natural to use the double tap or the A button.
