it's 1-2 frames of added lag as long as you know what you're doing. it's 3-4 frames if you don't. a frame or two was a big deal years ago when almost all non-CRT monitors and tvs added 5+ frames of lag on their own, but that's not the case anymore. it's easy to get monitors and tvs with a single frame (or less than a frame) of lag, making emulators totally playable. in fact, at that speed, they're comparable to real hardware through an upscaler... as long as you have a decent monitor or tv.

Most of the faggots obsessed with razor-sharp pixels were not alive in the 80s and 90s, or didn't get into gaming until later. That's why they think it's unacceptable to play games the way we always did. They have no genuine nostalgia or love for the era.
They're chasing the emulator look. That's what they think games look like. They're nostalgic for an imaginary version of the 80s and 90s. That's why the obsession with razor-sharp pixels gets worse every year.

I disagree. While BK is a way more linear experience as you can always 10 jiggy any level you enter without needing something from a world in advance it feels more consistent with its approach. Tooie felt like they had a competition for how many holes to other levels they could shove in like the isle of hags is built out of Swiss cheese. It makes that ice fire world my most hated not for the themes itself but all the damn back tracking. I will give credit for the better quests and bosses though.
