Well, a CRT or any SD screen.
HD screens won't display an SD resolution optimally, no matter how many S-video you use, it's not intended to run at high definition.

Doesn't help. I played DKC1 and 2 on CRT back in the day and the prerendered graphics were so offputting I never finished either. Which is a shame, because when I came back to the series on emulator looking past the graphics DKC1 was solid and DKC2 was amazing.
