Man this was a great console. Legendary titles that stick to you throughout the years. That's something we can all agree with.

Mega Man X3, Super Mario RPG, F-Zero and FFIV were my life. Now that I've grown older I've get the time to try the more obscure cult classics as Terranigma, Clock Tower and Seiken Densetsu. Breath of Fire is a pain in the ass to play though.

Yeah, if Secret of Mana is in the top 15 greatest games of the SNES, imo opinion Seiken Densetsu is in the top 5, right up there with Super Metroid, Final Fantasy 6, and Chrono Trigger.

SoM gets points for being the first, and also for having a really great story that doesn't revolve around gimmicks (I mean seriously, if I wanted to roleplay as some shmuck with his dog from Podunk, USA, I'd go walk down to the 7-11 and buy a Coke Zero). SoE was an obvious bone that Square threw to their USA crew, who promptly created the laziest rehash of a game that they could, while the Japanese team created a game which was so huge and majestic that it pushed the boundaries of what you could realistically pack inside of a SNES cartridge.

Fuck SoE. North Americans were cheated out of a vastly superior game because of it
