I've been meaning to make a tutorial video for the first two programs, though I don't really know much about MML so I can't say anything on the PC-98 front. From what I understand it's more or less the equivalent of writing sheet music in text so if you're familiar with that, it shouldn't be too complicated. I also don't know of any good pre-existing tutorials for any of those. I watched most of the popular ones starting out but found they didn't help at all.

If you're used to working with VSTs, there's an x68000 VST called VOPM. There's also this super old AdLib program I used to use that would only work in an emulator called AdLib Visual Composer. It's not nearly as advanced as Deflemask or mod trackers, but I have a lot of love for it.

worked on a game about a decade ago, learned how to write music in mml on the x68k and made a soundtrack in fm with the ym2151. it was the best soundtrack i ever wrote. at the time, nobody was really writing music in fm because the tools just weren't as good. the game was about 99% complete, but it was never released, and now that music is just sitting there with nobody to listen to it. so sad and frustrating.

Like the synthesis technique where an oscillator's frequency is modulated by another oscillator as if it was an audio-rate LFO?
Or is it something else?
