/vr/, I'm desperate. I want to play something retro and good but I feel like I'm too accustomed to all the usual suspects, I need something FRESH. Give me your best, least-mentioned, cult classic-est games. Stuff that you wanted to play for hours when you first found it. Something with heart and soul, with good-ass music hopefully. Make me feel alive again.

Have you tried Uncharted Waters: New Horizons yet? Not least-mentioned around here but definitely cult.

I dont know if it's popular or not but I rarely hear people talk about it but I played a lot of Power Blade on the NES.
Another game I like was some Avengers game, also on the NES.

Bonanza Bros. is a good romp I hardly ever see mentioned. 1p is great but to truly experience it you should play co-op.

Not the best version out there of Woodtick, but then again, you won't find anything near perfection anyway because it's the iMUSE engine that works like a charm, only in-game.

It’s a flawed game but it’s still really good. It’s got a slick art style and really strong writing

Play something really difficult retro cRPG like Wizardry 7. Learning all the systems and in's and out's should keep you busy for a while.

It's a first person turn-based game, the genre is often called "blobber".

It's not exactly obscure, though cult classic describes it well. Still FRESH and still the GOAT.

That name never sounds better. Did they intentionally pick the ugliest sounding name for the genre to keep other people away from it?

>> No.5104380

>>5104340
It's a very niche genre for absolute nerds, yes.
