They're the only good entries in the series but they get ignored because of the lack of memes. The series is probably the best of all strict jrpgs, but it's obvious when they cared about moving units more than making a solid game. I'm not considering the MegaTen series because they always tried to be something more than run of the mill.

I almost put Ogre Battle, Ogre Battle 64, Tactics Ogre, and Crystalis, but I think those are all well known enough. Even Sweet Home is pushing it, but I think it's Japanese exclusivity keeps it obscure enough to be considered "underrated".
