A long while ago there was a big thread that had some great promotional artwork for games using pre-rendered models. I was wondering if anyone had any of that art or something similar to share? Trying to get a folder going.

Most of the N64 pre-rendered promotional material were made on Silicon graphics workstations. Basically the same machines used to developer the games for the console.

Ray Tracing was not easy to use back then either, and it was a very slow process. Not many things used ray tracing in the mid 90's. Not even Toy Story, which used something more primitive. Pixar didn't fully render an entire movie with raytracing until Monsters Inc University.
