Has anyone bought it? If so, I would like to hear your opinions about it. It looks neat as a portable mini arcade machine and its price is quite affordable.

That's NeoGeo Mini you're talking about. I'm talking about Retro Arcade Mini.

It's the typical Chinese proprietary low power emulator

So close yet so far

Neither is the original Game Boy. Unless you're a giant.

it's not as big as you remember. and even so, the Game Boy could fit in a bag, that shit in OP isn't going anywhere.

From all these consoles you showed, only GBA SP and Gameboy Micro fits at pocket.

They OWNED SNK lmao.

On topic: Hell no. Shit aspect ratio and some of the games seemed to use frame skipping.

...though their Retro FC is a cool $20 NES in a Gameboy that I own and love.

You mean the ones with built-up games? Can you even add more roms at it?

analog stick... Screw that noise.
The emulation isn't all that great, the Genesis/MegaDrive sound is choppy.
too small to be a bartop and use proper controls, too big to fit in a pocket. I've seen small form-factor bartops that still have actual single player arcade controls.
I bought a Pandora Arcade console clone (Heroes Box) and the emulation, while not horrible, isn't the best, but at least the controls aren't absolute junk, and are easily changed out for good parts. I was planning on putting the guts of a Mini PC in the thing along with my Hyperspin setup on a SSD. That's about as portable as I'd want.
Of course, if you want it for console stuff, smaller is definitely doable, and since you don't need arcade controls...

If the emulation isn't that good, then fuck it, I'll skip it.

Well, it does have an SD card slot, so, assuming it has a good manual and actually where to put the files on an SD card, in theory, yes.
The board in the console from my last post has an SD slot on the board, but the actual files are on about 16GB of onboard storage, and the storage is hidden, no luck on using SSH to access it either.
If the board is locked up, then messing with the files will be a challenge, but if it's on the SD card, it should be pretty simple. it all depends on what board and software they use.

Nope, but they have a good selection included. Early Famicom releases are the bulk of it, though most popular games are also included (so long as they didn't use a save battery).

You could say I was, obsessed with it a few months ago. I put together a list of games and specs on the bootleg games wiki. http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/Retro_FC

the only reason one would buy one of these is if the case is large enough to house a Raspi or a Odroid XU4 and a compatible monitor.

Any better options for mini arcade machines of similar size with Retro Arcade Mini and NeoGeo Mini?

so far none, the only reason the retroarcade exists is because the neogeo mini proved to be popular.

the closest would be the Myarcade dataeast 34 in1, that one has an android based board and launcher software, allowing for considerably easy modding, however, its not the same form factor as these.

i hope the SBC case makers start developing solutions to make your own micro desktop arcades. for the raspi and odroid

Too small for my tastes at best it would just be a fun novelty for a day or two before I start getting annoyed by the lack of space for me hands. If I was going for a small arcade cabinet I'd be getting something the size of those countertop poker machines you see in bars.
