N64 games are stupidly expensive just like most Nintendo shit thanks to scalpers and collectors. Do yourself a favor and pick up one of these. They pay for themselves.

Im surprised because I buy used Playstation stuff all the time for cheap even on ebay but why is Nintendo retarded expensive? is it autism?

>>5050167
also do you mind giving me a quick rundown on that?

It has to be autism. I've heard bullshit answers like cartridge games rot over time, which, sure I get that, but Nintendo's contemporaries like Sega have always been cheaper to buy used.

>> No.5050182

I know anon, a lot of my n64 stuff was given to me by a friend who was moving or I probably wouldn’t have ended up with a collection.
Here are some games I found for $20 or less searching quickly through eBay:
Glover
Banjo Tooie
Wipeout
Mischief Makers
Donkey Kong 64
Diddy Kong Racing
Turok series games
Forsaken
Perfect Dark
Star Fox 64
Star Wars Episode I: Racer
Jet Force Gemini
F-Zero X

Everdrives made by krikzz. I picked mine up from stoneagegamer.com and I have the v2.x. It costs $100 USD and works perfectly, but you have to hit reset for RAM saves to be dumped into memory. It plays everything I throw at it flawlessly since unlike SNES games, N64 games did not have special bullshit chips in them.

Nintendo Tax

>> No.5050260

>>5050160
nintendo tax. Blame the scalpers/resellers who jack up the price on anything with mario or zelda on it, and more importantly blame the retarded ninten-drones who will open their assholes and pay whatever ridiculous price is asked of them.

The N64 suffers greatly from this issue because it has great well-known games, but there are relatively few of them and like 95% of them are nintendo games. Makes it really easy for scalpers

Nintendo tax. Additionally, any well known franchises get their taxes applied on top of the Nintendo tax. Mario and Pokemon taxes are probably the worst.

>> No.5050437

>>5050343
This combined with the fact that most of the best N64 games are ninty titles from well-known franchises like mario and pokemon and zelda. So they all end up being like 25-50 dollarydoos each. But luckily some of the more obscure 3rd party games are usually fairly cheap. Mischief Makers, Turok, and so on

If this is bait, at least its decent so I'll reply. Get an everdrive. You can play all the games and don't have to pay the ebay scalpers. Just buy the few games you have childhood nostalgia for and don't fall into the collector meme.

its not bait im just retarded so it sounds like it. are there any other similar things for other consoles?

>> No.5051443

>>5050171
It 100% is because of the cartridge format itself. Those things hold up much better than a disc, and that gives them tremendous value in the long term.

If you think NES/SNES/N64 prices are crazy, look up Neo-Geo or TurboGrafx-16.

>are there any other similar things for other consoles?

Yeah, basically any cartridge based console have them, from atari to n64. Some cd based consoles have optical drive emulators, but you'll have to either pay for them or learn to install them in your consoles yourself. It was already posted, but stoneagegamer is a pretty good site to get them, or you can order from krikzz themselves if you don't mind waiting on international shipping. Stoneagegamer usually says out of stock or pre order but I think it's just a way to discourage impatient people as I've ordered probably 6 different flash carts from them and got them all within a week.

Basically you put your roms on them, put them in the console and select what you want to play from the menu. They load the rom in a way that they are the same as original hardware, so you won't have lag or issues like emulators can. In other words, they play exactly like a real cartridge.

I made a spreadsheet about a year ago of the 100 or so n64 games that I want and averaged out some ebay prices. It may not be totally accurate anymore. I'd strongly suggest an everdrive if you don't feel like spending the money. Just don't impulse buy stuff like how I managed to spend $70 on OoT just because it was a gold cart with the manual.

Well, there are a bunch of people who recently bought a nintendo64 and then went on ebay and paid silly money for games. They're called bandwagoners and they have really shitted up the market. And what's worse, you're one of them.

Ive only bought stuff locally if that makes a difference to you. I had no idea there was some kind of autism fest over nintendo. I played sony stuff all my life

The prices will be dropping by 2030. You should be hoarding sixth gen games. That's the final retro generation. After that, games weren't finished until after shipping.

Where you bandwagoned makes no difference to me or anyone else. Not sure how you had no idea about " some kind of autism fest over nintendo". You have autism. You fest over it. What part of this is confusing?
