Hint: you don't need to use a card reader to transfer the files to your PC.
Simply photographing a Game Boy Pocket can give it a great effect if you play with the contrast a litte. You may even just put it in a scanner!
Another interesting alternative would be Super Game Boy + screen capture.

Be creative, have fun!

Yeah they were, exactly. Much like any digital storage medium, the frames on the GBCam aren't 'erased' until they're overwritten; so first thing I did after seeing that the camera was blank upon arrival (except for pic related oddly), was to rip the SRAM; and then GBCameraDump.exe rescued the deleted images from that.

I spent too much money getting all the dumb accessories (Mega Memory Card / GB USB SMART CARD 64M) to dump images in the most complicated way possible only to have BennVenn release his GB Printer Emulator 2 weeks later; so I ended up with that too. Most of the pics I'll post are from the El Snappo; but I was able to save my high school shots from the Mega Memory Card / Smart Card rig, which is really cool to have backed up.

For anyone considering buy a CartWheel for use with their SP... (as seen in this link https://gameboyphoto.bigcartel.com/product/cartwheel-with-case ) ...know that, while it works without a hitch, I increasingly feel like the chinese gameboy knockoff "GB Boy" would be a better purchase because a) better form factor b) backlit screen. That thing has its advantages, but it requires a computer, which are generally more than the $40 it costs for the El Snappo. The Snappo can also be used to 'print' from other games that support the GB Printer, which a cart dumper can't do. A dumper has its advantages, but if you want a standalone GB Printer printer replacement, you can't really shit on a $40 device that does exactly that and does it well.

Only few games used the printer connection. Plus, the printer interface can be emulated in software as seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_j0w7r6xSk

So if you have a cheap cart dumper like the GBxCart, you can still do all those things. "requiring a computer" is a bullshit disadvantage unless you live in a 3rd world poophole. Even with the hardware-emulated GB-printer by BennVenn you still need to transfer the files to your PC.

>> No.5030617

>Only few games used the printer connection
It's closer to 40 than a few
>Plus, the printer interface can be emulated in software
Why would I want to use a computer to do what a pocket-sized device could do in the 90s? Also, requiring a computer isn't a bullshit disadvantage at all since the GBCamera holds so few shots. If you're actually out taking pictures you can offload them and then clear the camera. Look, I don't have any issues with the device you're shilling, and I've considered buying one (and still am) to dump carts with, all I'm saying is that a purpose-built device that doesn't require a computer has its strengths.

>> No.5030649

>>5030617
With how many games have you actually used the printing interface outside he GB camera? Be honest.

I'm not shilling anything. I just wanted to point out the cheapest solution, that is all. Why are you defending your overpriced product so ferociously? Post-purchase rationalization?

Do you actually use the printer emulator in the field? Transferring 30 images one by one must be a pain. Having a laptop with you and just dumping the save-file is probably more convenient.

Just a handful so far, I have an EverDrive so I've been slowly trying them out. Super Mario Bros Deluxe has some really fun stuff. The solution I'm using costs only $10 more than yours, so I don't think it's overpriced by any means (that other SD card solution that costs $100 is ridiculous though), and I certainly don't need to rationalize a $40 purchase to a stranger on the Internet. I know this is 4chan, but it's OK to have different options for doing things. Also you can batch print from the camera, you don't need to do it one-by-one.
