Come on, you have to try Adventure Island, they're THE tropical retro games. I suggest New Adventure Island and Super Adventure Island to start with, then the NES/GB ones, then Super Adventure Island 2. It's a treat of a series.

This. You can truly enjoy it, it doesn't matter what kind of dude you are. Me too i think i am a bit of an introvert to an extent, but after realizing what i was missing i'm now very fond of these kind of landscapes. It's also true that i always go to the most unknown beaches in order to avoid other people/chaos, though.
