Every damn time. Half the PC games that get posted here are 2000-2001. That Icewind Dale thread that's up now? Icewind Dale was released June 29, 2000. Deus Ex threads? June 23, 2000. Thief II? February 29, 2000. Those Baldur's Gate 2 threads? Throne of Bhaal was released June 22, 2001. The Diablo threads? Lord of Destruction was released June 27, 2001. Empire Earth threads? November 12, 2001.

And so on. But then every fifth thread or so, there's always one Johnny Come-Lately who thinks his interpretation of the /vr/ rules is correct who spams the thread with screeches about how "any other forms of video games on platforms launched in 1999 and earlier" should not include PC - and ONLY PC games- despite them making up half this board. Naturally, the janitors leave the thread up because it's not a violation, but JCL will keep spamming the thread in the hopes that his shitposting will make the jannies just get tired of the argument and delete the thread entirely.

Half of the board is arguing about what is /vr/ and whatnot. Games that should/shouldn't be allowed, people wanting Ps2 threads, people saying DC isn't allowed while the rules were changed years ago. I don't even care if something is allowed or not. If the mods are ok with it then it's fine, if they delete the thread then it's fine too, who am I to complain, but that's not how things work.

A CPU's word size isn't a good metric to go by, so no, that's not really his logic.
Going by OS or if the hardware the game can run on was released before 1999 is the best way to handle determining whether a computer game is retro.
For example, if I can run the PC game on my Pentium II with a Voodoo2 card, then it should be allowed on here, no contest.
