Is there any reason to own one of these? My friend just found a ton of games in his father's basement and I don't know if I should even start an odyssey 2 collection

The big box board games are pretty cool

Oh man. Didn't even know these existed

They come into my shop surprisingly often. Cleaning them is a pain in the ass and they're really unappealing systems in a lot of ways. I often see the games complete in box, seems like nobody really used them very much. I'm not a fan. Don't use alcohol to clean them.

Do you like Atari 2600 games? If the answer is yes then you'll probably enjoy the Odyssey 2. It has a lot of its own charm and a small but very enjoyable library of games. If you're a fan of games from that era it's hard not to find some love for it.

KC Munchkin. Love that son of a bitch.

A local comic shop has an Odyssey II and a bunch of games for really cheap, but I just can't bring myself to buy it. It's slightly before my time, like the 2600, and I just can't get into the games, as hard as I try.

My first gaming systems were the VIC-20, C64, and SMS.

Odyssey 2 games are notably more primitive than VCS/2600 games

The 2600 wouldn't be able to handle something like KC's crazy chase without ungodly amounts of flicker.

Weird...I saw a CIB one at a pawn brokers for the first time but it was a 'Philips Videopac G7000'.
Some asian man got it for $110, which is a bit much

Yeah, it's worth owning one. I own one and a bunch of boxed games for it. K.C. Munchkin is a great one.
