This is about 60% of the collection. I've had a lot of these for over 20 years and then bought a bunch of games from pawn shops, goodwills, old funcoland/gamestop stores from 2002-2006 so I only paid a few bucks for most of them. Prices are insane so I haven't bought anything in years.

Yea the "Platinum" was a decent compromise but PAL discs of the original runs don't look that great either, usually they're just one block colour with the game title unlike the NTSC U/C and J's which could have had awesome etched picture discs

You already have the actual cartridge games- and most importantly you also have the internet access to get any rom or emulator you want, so... why would you need those?

Is it the comfort of brand loyalty to Nintendo? Is it to make a statement of just how great a customer you are? I can't think of any actual practical reason for anyone to own one and doubly so if they own original carts and consoles.

If you're collecting things just for the sake of completist collecting... I'm sorry to say, you might be the one with the autism.

Mostly to be curated. I already had many from my childhood already complete and with the clamshells being so sturdy a good many have survived over time and outside of certain games only adds a couple bucks to the overall cost. Not all are CiB tho. I prefer a complete game but if the price is right I will buy a game that just comes with the case.

Majority are from the last ten years. I started getting back into the Genesis when NES prices started to spike. Some like Shinobi 3, Comix Zone, and Mortal Kombat I've had CiB since childhood. A few I've owned just as long but loose so I bought them a case. Even tho I no longer own a it the Nomad box is my original box. Found it at my parents house in their game cupboard. Nice. My parents threw out all my old boxes. Did you just buy them off of ebay or something? I have about 80 genesis loose carts and I would like cases for a good portion of them.

when your collection is so vast you are worried about posting pics. Complete snes collection halfway done with neo geo mvs (half are full kits)

Most of my loose cart games cases believe it or not are from local retro stores. If I find a game case I need I ask how much for just the case. 9 times outta 10 they sell usual for just the cost difference between loose and CiB.

If you could care less about authenticity you can buy repro covers for cheap. Most clamshells are exactly the same so buy some shitty cheap sports game CiB, sell the game, and replace the cover with the repro you want.

Forgot to mention that the repro covers you can buy are practically indistinguishable from originals now. I suspect many of the more expensive genesis games on ebay did the cover trick that I mentioned before to up the price.

Yeah I've thought about just getting universal game cases and just printing the covers. I would need about 500 unfortunately and I have a lot of other hobbies so I just haven't gotten to it yet. Maybe this winter when I'm working less hours and its 30 below zero.

Gamefaqs made their system worse somehow.
