no additional cores, no buy

Convenient, but not any better than higan/bsnes, snes9x is good enough, and shaders are nice. You could spend less on an actual SNES and CRT, so I don't see the point unless you're married and extremely whipped.

This. I literally cannot believe they bought Kevtris

>>4964765
And also this, now that emulators have "run ahead" they can absolutely compete with FPGA and they do it for free

>> No.4965019

i have one. it basically replaced my SNES.

I'm very interested in it and other FPGA sorts of machines but I really feel like the sort of price they tend to command is kind of off the shits.

Admittedly it has gotten better in those terms as well, but the fact that the Analogue NT Mini was like five hundo is literally insane.

Probably only worth it if you already have a big collection of games and plan to play on an LCD exclusively.
Otherwise, if having the OG hardware doesn't matter to you, stick with Higan or SNES9X via RetroArch.
I find it to be a bit of a letdown due to no additional cores like the NT Mini and even with loading games off SD cards, compatibility is no better than a Super Everdrive, so no special chip games at all unless you have a SD2SNES or the original games.

>> No.4965302

Controller looks nice

>> No.4965483

Its good. I like the quality of the video signal on my HDTV compared to my SNES over my OSSC which is always pretty blurry.

>> No.4965931

>>4964743
If you're planning on playing exclusively on a HDTV it's great. Obviously it's not for the CRT authenticity brigade. I was originally running an OG non-1chip SNES through a framemeister and the SuperNT blows it away image-fidelity wise.

I've also got the NT Mini and I'm hoping they do a Genesis next. A Neo Geo MVS/AES with USB inputs and SD card ROM loading would be the dream.

i've been interested in this thing for a while, but for the price i'd rather pick up something that plays games i can't play currently like a turbo duo or msx or something. i'd be more inclined to buy one if it had other cores like the nt mini.

>> No.4966376

How's the retrousb avs? I ain't shelling out 500 burgers for an NT mini.

>> No.4966403

>>4964743
I don't see who it's supposed to appeal to. If you're a purist and have a bunch of physicals, you probably also have an original console already. If you want to play it on an HDTV you can get an OSSC for about the same price (which will work with all your consoles, not just one). If you're not a purist, you still need to buy a separate flashcart for a huge chunk of the ROM library, or you can just emulate for free.

>> No.4966448

Love mine. Can't decide whether or not I like the scanlines though, so I leave them off. I should take a closer look at all the options.

It has sharper squares than OSSC because there's nothing analog between the emulation and laggy digital tv.

Will the OSSC work with an AV Famicom without mods? I thought it was only like VGA and RGB in.

>> No.4966650

>>4966648
No, the OSSC can't take composite or s-video, which is a huge bummer. It can be coupled with the new, 'not really in mass production yet' retrotink 2x, but at that point you might as well buy a framemeister or AVS. I'm actually planning to buy an AVS shortly and just call it a day.
