gimme some SNES recommendations to repro.

NOTE: secret of evermore repro has the 2player and balance patch applied and every game is in english except for Ghost Sweeper Mikami.

If you're okay with fake cartridges, then just get a flashcart.

but it makes me feel good when i look at a bunch of games. the various labels and cover arts... its pretty exciting to me.

why is this bad?

it's like getting excited about a bunch of burned CDs or bootleg VHS tapes. they aren't collectors items but you can make them look cool and that's fine.

Irrelevant. Games are meant to be played, not looked at.

i do both.

just looking at them makes me wana pop em in and play.

>>4963296
with carts like this the line is a bit blurred since most of these are english repros of JP only games.

certainly makes them pretty interesting i think. certainly won't be worth anything, but i love that these things can be made. its exciting to suddenly be able to pop in a SNES game that was never available before into a actual SNES and play it. makes it feel new.

Your Stupid NoFriendo's connector is abraded every time a cartridge is inserted or removed. It wasn't designed to last this long and will last much longer if you just leave a flash cart in. assuming you actually play games

Maybe do some of the hacks scheduled for the upcoming GDQ?

I bought a retro cart of Starfox 2. And Tengai Makyou Zero, though that may be the patch burned onto a legi cart, I dunno. I have a Super NT, so I only need physical carts of Super FX games.

i like to keep them classic usually. i might go for a gimmicky color if its appropriate for the game.

availability and reliability

fact is, these things are old and not always owned by people who took care of them and kinda hard to come by.

trying to find a decent copy of metal warriors for example... not that easy.

also- it happens that the games I'm most interested were never translated into english. repros are a great option for me.

yeah, getting english repros of JP only games suddenly has opened up a vast ocean of new games i never thought id ever play or even knew existed so i know its not nostalgia making me like these.

so far every game i have has blown me away by its quality and overall design. they don't make games like they did in the SNES era anymore.

sometimes its utterly nessesary. you won't find copies of Hagane, Metal Warriors or Dracula X at all. at the very least, you won't find them at a fair or reasonable price. they are just too rare.

yeah in those cases making a distinct label or cartridge is best I think. I dont care that much if people like repros and that stuff but I just won't own any myself.
