I’ve dabbled with the idea of cleaning my carts and storing them in ziplock bags but I think if the air is very humid it could cause moisture to form inside the bags

In a cardboard box in the attic, of course.

Surrounded by an inert gas such as argon inside a hermetically stored non-ferrous anode alloy capsule buried at least fifty feet beneath Flushing Meadows park in New York and capped with a 7 ton solid granite capstone. Should preserve them for at least 5,000 years

For normal and reasonable human purposes though, on a shelf in their original boxes kept within normal human limits of temperature and humidity is fine. I've been thinking of getting some of those clear fold up outer boxes to minimize shelf wear.

Absolutely. It could withstand a nuclear bomb of the maximum late 60s yield being detonated directly on top of it

You can buy those 80 cents plastic boxes from aliexpress. On 50 games thats a 40 dollar investment. Almost nothing.

just buy a bunch of air absorbing gel packets. they are cheap as fuck and last for a few years. i just throw a few in each of my boxes of carts and put em on the shelf until i want to play something in that box.

The best place to store them is to obviously put them all into a box/boxes and then set them out at a garage sale for me to grab.

No, but the humid air that enters every time it's opened will readily condense onto any cold, rough surface.
