Gimick certainly has some of the best graphics and sound on the system (no wonder it was released in 1992), but is it as great a game as it's being tooted as these days?
I'm not inclined to agree so readily on that.
The controls aren't as tight as one would like them to be and it can be overly difficult at times, slipping from challenging into unfair territory.
That said, I don't think it's a bad game either. Just kind of overrated here because it's an overlooked near gem many people didn't get the chance to play back in the day and are still being dazzled having made a fresh discovery.

Because of its graphics processor, which makes it a hybrid system between generations, kind of like the Dreamcast.
And like the Dreamcast, it was a lovely console that got a much worse fate than it deserved.

Pic related might not be the best game of all time or even the best version of that game, but it was the 8-bit start of one of the greatest action rpg series of all time.

Don't worry mate. This isn't /v/ where everything has to be black 'n white and full of implications and insults in order to catch peoples attention before the thread drowns. Lets just discuss great 8-bit games. Like pic related, a Metroid/Impossible Mission hybrid based on a somewhat obscure 80s anime and light gun toyline. Horrible cover though.

While I do respect all of your opinions, Other than the completely wrongfags, I believe Castlevania 3 would be mine. First NES Game I ever played, Went to a friend's and started up whatever was in there, And the magic happened. To this day, I still remember when I beat Dracula. Four fucking bars of Life and I was inches away from getting hit by a Laser.
I don't know what younger me had going on, But now I have difficulty with GETTING to Dracula again.

I tried to get into it but it seems unplayable. There is no sthealth in the game, just pray to get out of the screen as fast as you can.
As far as I'm concerned, the MSX version actually lets you play using sthealth which was the main point of the game to begin with.

That's why it's just, not just because Kojima said so.

It's like pretending the Pac-Man port of Atari2600 is good.
