If you mean the dkc port on the gbc, thats not good. For starters play the dkl games for gameboy on a gba sp and choose a color palette that you enjoy. The dkl games on gb are very good, but dk 94 is best. The dkc games on snes are at the top of the platformer list. Each one has a different gameplay mechanic as each one uses different characters. Donkey kong and donkey knog jr. are great games that everybody should play if they consider themselves a "gamer". Donkey kong 64 sucked really bad, worse than banjo kazooie, just collectathon shit, but if you like that kinda thing... gopher it!. Im not sure what other dk games there are besides diddy kong racing, which is great
All other dk games are non retro shit to my knowledge.

The GBC port of Donkey Kong Country has fucked up hitboxes (they don't match the sprite size; they used Donkey Kong Land as a base for the game's code, then changed the sprite size without changing the hitbox) and it hinders the quality of the platforming. I recommend playing the SNES original, you'll really notice a difference.
