what's the best version of this game? SNES or GBA?
I'm going to emulate with a 2ds xl so if you know a way to import a savedata for snes virtualconsole I'd like to keep playing a game I started in 2011 on a phone emulator (with GBA games it's pretty easy doing it with godmode9)

SNES version, GBA port has butchered audio like every other port

GBA add nothing of value beside Four Swords (which requires multiplayer to be playable, no exceptions unlike all of the other versions of the game) though if you get the master sword or complete the game on LttP (forgot which) you will have the sword beam thing on Four Swords. Just go with the original SNES version.

It's not that long or difficult, I'd just start over.
For SNES or GBA, it'd be a flip of a coin for me.

The added voices in GBA are extremely grating, and they don't even make sense because Link isn't a child in that one

>> No.4925550

I need a guide to enjoy it?
missing collectables gives me a bad feeling, I'm currently playing link's awakening and I'm using a walkthrough to catch the seashells
it feels like cheating but it's better than missing secrets
I don't have the time to bomb every wall, should I just give up with zelda?

SNES. The answer is always SNES. Better graphics. Better audio. Higher resolution.

A lot of people say they hate those, but I kind of like them.
I guess I'm a freak that way.

I don't know, Link is like 15-16 in that game, it's odd to use voice clips of Young Link from OoT and MM

This, I don't know why the fuck they thought making Link squeal like a pig every five seconds was an upgrade.

SNES but if you're going to emulate, use Higan

I tried it but it use a different save format, why is that?

Play normally and after beating it use a walkthrough for 100%

>> No.4932823

The only thing GBA has over LttP is the better translation, because on SNES it sucks. There are romhacks you can use to fix that, though.

Why is this thread constantly being made?

Zelda games have IMO way too many collectibles and usually I just don't bother going for 100%. 90 something is fine by me. Using the guide just ruins the exploration aspect. Not to mention there is NO major content you can miss anyway. Oh, you didn't get the extra super hidden quiver/bomb bag upgrade that makes the piss easy game even easier. Who the fuck cares, just play the fucking game and have fun.

It's the same format, just change the file extension. (Assuming you're talking about SRAM/battery save files, not save states which are generally not compatible between different emulators).

>> No.4932862

GBA has a better fontset and has the convenience of portability.

LttP has no missables.
