What is the most obscure secret you know?

>> No.4905646

In the original Pokemon games, attacks that do damage and have a chance to apply a status condition (PSN, PRZ, ect) will never apply the special condition if the enemy is the same type as the move. For example, Twin Needle will never poison bug types. However, this doesn't apply to attacks that do no damage, like Sleep Powder.

>> No.4905656

in level 2 of Double Dragon on the NES, you could max out your exp and gain all moves by hitting an invisible enemy with a baseball bat over and over again

>> No.4905668

>>4905646
Poison is the only status effect it doesn't work with. It does work with Paralyze, though. Thunder will never Paralyze electric types, Lick will never Paralyze ghosts, Body Slam will never Paralyze normal types, ect.

>> No.4905675

>>4905668
I thought poison types were straight-up immune to the poison status in gen 1, anyway.

DKC has a bonus level within a bonus level. It’s the first one in Oil Drum Alley, and it’s one of the ones you have to jump at roulette barrels and match 3. You have to match three single-banana barrels, which causes a real physical barrel to appear. Then, you have to pick it up and straddle the breakable wall to the right in a way that makes DK or Diddy automatically enter the new passage instead of celebrating the bonus “win.” Then you will enter the 2nd room.

This counts for a percentage point on your file and can only be done the very first time you do that bonus area.

Which game was it again where you unlocked a secret cheat by rubbing your wet finger against the controller port because it fucked with the current and the computer detected that or some shit?

>> No.4905894

>>4905892
The built-in cheat in Creatures II is unorthodox. To gain infinite lives, the player must wait for the credits screen to appear, then wet his finger and quickly rub it across Joystick Port One. A big picture of Maximus Mouse (from the games Summer Camp and Winter Camp byThalamus) will appear, waving his arms every time the player rubs his finger across the port. The player must repeatedly rub the port until Maximus Mouse turns grey, at which point the Fuzzy fountain will also flash to confirm that the cheat is now active.[2]

Twineedle is Beedrill's signature move. It's always been a bug-type attack that can poison, even back in gen 1 where there were only a couple of bug moves.

My friends and I figured out the STAB, but we were never totally sure about the physical / special split. Our assumption was that move types that generally inflict status effects would be counted as special, while those that don't are physical.

We assumed that normal, fighting, flying, rock, ground, grass, and bug were physical, while fire, water, ice, electric, psychic, ghost, and poison were special. We were wrong about ghost (wtf), poison, and grass, but the others were right, I think.

Yeah, there were a lot of false rumors about that scene, mostly stemming from misunderstandings in Director's Cut. A lot of people seemed to think that triggering the alternate version of that scene allowed you to get random headshots with the handgun, but that's not the case; headshots were due to the silver M92F, which worked the same way in RE2, I believe. Too bad there's no legit way to get that gun on Leon or Claire. I don't even know if it works properly when they use it.

Keep in mind that the Pokemon's base speed stat is what's used for critical calculations, and not their actual speed.

Regular attacks have a critical rate of Base Speed / 512, while high critical rate attacks are Base Speed / 64. Anything with a base speed of 64 or higher has a 255/256 chance of landing a critical hit with high crit rate attacks, since there's always a 1/256 failure rate, due to how the game runs calculations.

almost certainly by the monsters lurking
in the underground ruins of Ragol
After much contemplation
I decided to leave

To save my daughter I left for Ragol.
Defeating monsters as I encountered them
I frantically searched for Rico
Then while in battle with several enemies
A blast of light engulfed me
I watched in silence
as the creatures ran for their lives
my body started to slowly disintegrate
And now only my soul remains
Some entity has started to eat away at my body
I am no longer what I once was.
Since I can no longer do this so I ask of you
save my daughter Rico and tell

>A lot of people know that Stomp doubles damage done to pokemon who've used Minimize. However, at various points, different moves have also done extra damage; this includes Body Slam, Flying Press, and Heavy Slam, and formerly Needle Arm, Shadow/Phantom Force, and Extrasensory.
>Most of the gen 7 pokemon trainers don't have pokemon that know four moves. All of the Elite 4 have at least one mon that doesn't know four (in Sun and Moon at least). Hala has three of his five pokemon who only know two moves.
>In all of his rematches in Emerald, Juan (the eighth gym leader) has absolutely no way of killing a Shedinja besides Struggle.
>Only one pokemon has had two different signature abilities at two completely separate times: Drifblim.
>A lot of abilities have bizarre out-of-battle effects. Keen Eye and Intimidate have a 50% chance of stopping would-be encounters with low-level pokemon; Quick Feet, White Smoke and Stench have a 50% chance of stopping any encounters. Some, like Lightning Rod, increase the chance of encountering a certain type (in this case electric).
>The move Cut will cut down not only trees, but also (if manually selected) patches of tall grass.
>If you have a pokemon with the ability Hyper Cutter in the front of your party you can cut double the area of grass.
>Only three pokemon have access to the move Octazooka: by level-up, Octillery; by breeding, Seadra; and by event... Sableye.
