How is this controller?

I'm considering buying it for my emulation needs. I'd really like to check out some SNES and PSX games I never played, and maybe some Sega Saturn as well.

Is the D-Pad any good? What about the layout, is it cramped?

The initial batch had an issue where the innards of the stick and left shoulder button were making contact or something. They went back and fixed it and are shipping by the end of this month according to the last email I got from them like a week ago. Hoping it's not trash, but I'm not too chuffed if I'm out the 30 bucks or whatever it was.

i will never understad why you cucks unironically enjoy a touchpad d-pad. obviously it works you dumb retards but its fucking stupid. How are you going to push down on a d-pad harder when you dont think youre going to make a jump? the dpad is the hardest valve has fucked up since not making half life 3

I find that if I try to use it for anything involving the sticks it feels cramped. If I'm just using it for games with no analog support and ignore the sticks it works pretty well. Shoulda bought one without them I suppose.

youre on a board where you can say
>why do you need to
to literally every thread

why do people feel the need to have real hardware to emulators hurr why do people feel the need to own games instead of drive replacement sd cards durr what is analog feedback etc etc

it feels good and it feels right and it makes those tense moments that more tense. much better than that horrible hard click of the steam controller

Look anon, I get that you like to have the things you like. It's a universal desire among many many gamers.

The steam controller allows for a large amount of variation and types of feedbacks. If you spent some time really digging into it, you might come to see some things our way. Pick one up on super crazy sale through steam sometime.

If you already own it however, give it more love.

Haptic feedback is awful, though.
