I think he's a great artist, I don't mind his squareness, in fact I think it's pretty cool.
The thing I miss the most about old Toriyama is his watercolors. Digital painting was a mistake. I bet he knows it, but he's too lazy.

Whenever he "designs" a character for a game, he gets the character already drawn by another artist first and then he redraws the character.

A lot of 20-40yo are able to replicate the Toriyama style. We don't really need him to make the designs.

The character design process for Darkstalkers was intended to serve a secondary function as training for new designers, so Akiman, who had been the main designer for Street Fighter 2, supervised and offered feedback to ten or so other artists as they did nothing but crank out design after design for three whole months, gradually improving and distilling each concept until it was perfect. Akiman recently said that putting that much time and effort into design was unprecedented back then.

SaGa games have some great original artwork.

I second SaGa games, they have very cool characters and great art, hard to find a series where you can play as Slash or Stewart Copeland too.
