although the Crocomire is justified in fighting you because you violated his property rights, samus is not the one primarily violating the Non-Aggression Principle. by locking the door, and in effect kidnapping Samus, the space pirates are the ones violating the NAP, not Samus. when you are illegally kidnapped, you have the right to defend yourself against fellow inmates even though they are not your captor.

ok I found it, but here is the thing. at what point are you ever supposed to know the 'charge' can make you jump farther? the game never tells you that. I kept trying to zap upward or sidways. It never tutorials you how to do that. I only saw it in a video guide. you can do that? WHAT? there is no way to justify how flawed this is.

Dachora teaches you the technique, in a similar manner that the etecoons teach you wall jumping. You never need to shinespark or wall jump to beat this game though, so that's a moot point.

There are speed booster bricks right by the end of the ramp. The only way they could have possibly made it more obvious is if they put up an actual fucking sign there saying SPEED BOOSTER JUMP HERE DIPSHIT.

the game tried really hard, and you guys just missed the clues.

it had already taught you how to break through walls using the speed booster (you have to do this to get to crocomire), and when you get to the room in question, there are speed booster blocks all over a flat area that ends with a ramp. the blocks entice you to speed boost. Boosting right hits a wall, so boosting left is the only option. the sudden ramp and looooong pool of acid should have made you want to jump off it at full speed.

even if you had missed all of this, with enough exploration you could access dacora's and the etecoon's rooms and learned how to both shinespark and wall jump, which would allow you to bypass the tall wall leading up to the grapple.

this game does an outstanding job of showing things to you silently.
