You really need some composite video filtering to make this game display as intended. Find a shader preset that lets you set the resolution to 160 and it will look alright. This is the only game I'm aware of that has a variable number of lag frames, sometimes X, sometimes X+1. IIRC, X is 2.

This game could have been good if it wasn't a rush job. Were any other Genesis games written in high level language?

Sometimes Sonic flirted with this sort of dark ambiance. Weird that a side game was the only one that went whole hog. If they had gone this way with the edgier 3D Sonics it would have been fine, but no, they had to add endless "Badass" palette swaps of Sonic and disgusting human characters.

Fuck you Sonic Team.

I would love a sonic spinball type sonic game where he travels through the cities of the world cleaning them up one back ally rapist at a time. Just fix the jumping mechanics a bit and boom, badass edgy sonic people can enjoy

So just use X=2.
Add Mortal Kombat II SNES to your list. Input lag anywhere between 2 and 6 for various moves.

What retroarch shaders do you recommend for this, the Sonic waterfalls and the Earthworm Jim vertical stripe transparency? Hopeless noob that needs to be spoonfed.
