I always heard that it was one of the best visual novels ever made and was told to expect an AMAZING narrative, but when I finally played and beat it, I left feeling that it was kinda bland. 7/10 on a good day.

Also didn't we just have a snatcher thread?

Not him, but let me ask you a simple question:
What makes you think you are anything else or better than mainstream audience, you sad, pathetic piece of shit?
Seriously, there is something truly amazing about faggots crying about "le evil dumbass mainstream" while living themselves in some unbacked assumption they are "true" or simply "better", just because they have different type of shit taste.

EVERY taste sucks. Every single fucking one.
But mine, of course. I'm the special guy

I don't think the story is amazing, it's actually pretty standard. What I think the game plays well is presenting a specific atmosphere and an interesting world to explore, even if in such a limited capacity. The music specifically always hits the right notes to puts you in the proper mood. But the narrative arc itself is quite underwhelming, and act three is a big tone shock, doesn't even feel like we're playing the same game.
But alas, I liked the game for what it is, I understand it's not amazing but it hit all the right notes for me.

>blatant plagiarism of Blade Runner

Outside of the Tyrell Pyramid in the intro, and Junker HQ looking the police station (only shown in intro) MC bearing a resemblance to Deckard (visual only) that that it involves killer androids, the work is distinct enough that it falls in the camp of "homage".

I hate when people who never played this game say it's a ripoff of Blade Runner.
The similarities are skin deep and only exist in the introductory sequence.

Even in more gameplay focused genres like SHMUP's some of the most well liked games are more story based like say Radiant Silvergun and Hellsinker.

Again I get that you probably think you are really smart but I'm telling you, you are not, we actually have examples of games that are fondly remembered for their gameplay and also for their story, no "argumentum ad populum" here.

He can only invoke "argumentum ad populum" so many times until it becomes clear that he just has shit taste and is a brainlet.

If he even bothers replying with it again thus implying that Silent Hill and Radiant Silvergun are bad games it will only confirm his shit taste brainlet status.

They really don't have that much in common outside of like two visual references. Guy hunting robots in the future isn't that original of a concept and Snatcher doesn't explore what it really means to be human like Blade Runner does. If you think Snatcher is blatant plagiarism I sure hope you never watch Bubblegum Crisis you'd be ripping your hair out at every reference to famous movies that OVA makes.

Its Kojima game... after 25 years of his juvenile stories you should know his target audience by now.

wrong, the point I was making was that storytelling can, has and is fundamentally integrated into gameplay and they are not at odds at all with each other.
