I did a lot of emulating on PSP GO and playing but I eventually developed cramps or carpal tunnel syndrome.

I'm thinking of making some custom handles as support to make it feel like a xbox controller. That or modify one of those hipster controllers for smartphones.

Katakana wasn't as matured then as it is today. Similar idea with the aeris/aerith/earth argument.
I think it used to be the hyphens were used as a break between the characters, and the smaller kana was used to elongate the sound. Japanese is a dumb language and katakana/western influence has officially ruined any chance of it recovering.

Although having a nearly identical form factor, I prefer my X-Play over a PSP Go precisely because of its "lagdroid" OS for which there's a lot more emulator choices although the PSP native library better than Android 2.4's (I haven't updated it since it's a rare prototype with hdmi).

Making a sweeping suggestion that a platform you're unfamiliar with is "laggy" is childish.

I doubt it. When the PSP came out, it got the support because it was the only handheld you could buy with that kind of emulation potential (ignoring the GP32 for a moment). Now in times of the Vita, Sony have stepped up their bullshit and you can buy a gazillion devices that are easier to write/optimize emulators for.
>GPD Win
>Lagdroid devices and phones
>Chink handhelds like the RS-97 or the GCW Zero
>3DS which already includes many great emulators and has a growing homebrew scene
>gameboy zero (and other raspberry pi devices that support retroarch)
>openpandora and soon™ pyra if you are autistic
>PocketCHIP and other pico-8 capable devices if you are autistic and poor

There is little incentive to use the vita for homebrew and emulation with that many more open alternatives.

It has a bit of an input lag because of the way android as an operative system works, that said it's not as bad as they say IF YOU ALREADY OWN an android device.

That's the big point, if you are buying something solely for handheld emulation then android is not for you, but if you already have something decently recent around it's better to try that first before buying a dedicated device.
If after that you're not satisfied with it then look into dedicated devices.

>The vita is MUCH more powerful than the n3ds. It'll be able to run n64 and possibly even some non retro consoles without a hitch.

Why are you making stuff up? Retroarch currently runs like shit on that device, whereas the switch can already emulate GameCube games and its been hacked like a month ago. Want to know why? Because it uses a standard arm chip with a GPU that's mainline Linux supported (through mesa). The vita is a locked down piece of shit with no support and not that many people even owning one. For a great n64 emulator you need people optimizing one for that specific hardware and that just didn't happen until now and claiming that some new exploit is magically going to change that is just stupid wishful thinking.

About 2-3 times more powerful.
GPD Win 1 has a Z8700 Quad Core Cherrytrail Atom CPU and an intel HD405 onboard graphics processor and 4gb Ram.
GPD Win 2 has a 7Y30 Core M processor (7th gen core m dual core) and an intel HD615 onboard graphics processor and 8gb ram.
Win 1 could barely run 2D PS2 fighters and run like 3 Gamecube games with massive speed hacks.
Win 2 can handle most of the PS2 library. Some games with the software renderer. And pretty much most Dolphin titles at 720p internal renderer, and with hybrid. It only slows down on the desert level of FZero GX to about 40/50fps.
The Win 2 is so powerful in comparison, if you set it to 3w TDP instead of 7w, its STILL more poweful than the Win. At 3 watts.

This is sound advice. My first Win (second batch of the first version which I bought from Geekbuying) can't turbo boost else it overheats and bluescreens. But it doesn't seem to suffer from the swollen battery issue thats common in later models, or at least my ocd ritual of turning it off fully, letting it cool, then charging only while its off and upside down on a flat surface helps. Still works pretty good at 99% cpu. Mine's lasted a good couple of years.
Not that turbo helps an Atom much anyway. The tradeoff on thermals and battery life isnt worth it.
The Win 2 prototypes were very well made from the videos I saw so I took a punt on the Win 2. Mine's been great so far. (Though I reckon my unit is from the batch that didnt cut the heatsink film properly, but I've never had the need to open it up and check.

Sometimes it's just nice to play in bed, or on the toilet, or while on the couch with the tv as background noise, or while outside having a smoke in the morning.

>150€ for a device that can run the latest version of Retroarch is expensive
OK fampai, how about you stop bring poor? I'll not even mention the close to 100 software releases and updates this device got in 2018, 10 years after it's initial release. I currently play Diablo II on mine and it was half the price of a GPD win (used).

Why do they do this.
Even the fucking Switch is guilty of this, if you have man sized hands you WILL get cramps.

This is obviously a staged photo, the upper terminal is showing neofetch, which is not a running application but just a printout

Kite's Circuit Sword is regarded the best solution in terms of quality but it's kinda expensive. Pre-orders are up right now:

If you want a ready-made device then look for 1up's Gameboy Pi (warning: Chink device with 3D printed aftermarket shells)

Generally it's a good idea to lurk sudomod a bit to get familiar with all current projects. Tinypi and Mintypi are a lot cheaper than Kite's Circuit Sword but they are zero based, while his is RBPi3 based (compute module, not the regular pi3).

Gaboze Pocaio looks very promising as it uses a Gameboy Pocket shell.

I might end up building one of these.
