After fishing around I eventually figured out the thing in the dark unseeable corner was in fact a vertical moving lever that turns on the power in there. But since it was a dark unseeable corner it was hard AF to notice that it was something to be interacted with, I thought it was level geometry meant to look like power cables going into the wall or such.

I was scoring consistently about 300ms, good enough for me I guess.
Definitely need to have a ping about half of what your own reaction time is though, because otherwise you could be forced to wait up to twice as long as your reaction speed.

Hey guise, I require your assistance, I wanted to have random articles of clothing to show up on these racks, and doing a randomspawner seemed like a lot of work for just decorations. WeedsGM, but one of the instruments sounds wrong (its trembling up and down instead of keeping the tone) in one of AAliens midis. I tried to splice it with Roland SC-55 soundfont, but replacing or removing the wrong instruments did nothing. I tried everything and couldnt fix it.

On that note if anyone knows how to properly edit soundfonts can he help me in that regard?
All I need is replace one instrument (Tremolo strings) in Weeds3GM with same instrument from Roland.

Bloodstain was a runner up to the cacowards, but nobody's talking about it and it doesen't get recomended enough. IMO it is great deal ahead in gameplay and visual design than many wds that actually did win a caco.

also my perfectionist nature made me go back and try fix some issues with the logo, and then redo it using a different method. And this is why I cant into mapping - I get stuck redoing shit over and over until I get tired and scrap everything altogether.

The first one has some traces of semi-transparent shadow from where I cropped the Doom word, because it somehow did not show in the editor. It is hard to notice, but when I see it on the site against a different background I did notice.
Ialso noticed how the spike in the upper part does not line up with the clear divide between OO so it irritated me a bit.
Unfortunately I closed the editor, and saved it as PNG, which has no layers. So I redid the whole thing using a different cropping method, removed the (r) sign and slightly touched up shadows as well, making better use of layers this time.
AND NOW I NOTICE THAT WO AND OD PARTS HAVE DIFFERENT PIXEL WIDTH AND WHILE OO LINE ALIGNS WITH THE SPIKE PERFECTLY THE OVERALL WORD IS SLIGHTLY SHIFTED O THE LEFT AND THAT DRIVES ME MAD BECAUSE I CLOSED THE EDITOR LONG AGO AND DIDNT SAVE FILE AGAIN
whoever made that logo in the first place needs to go to hell and fall into a river of lava

and now you know why having keen eye for graphic is suffering
Also another reason I hate effects like chromatic aberration - I physically can not look at it for longer than 15 seconds it drives me mad and makes my eyes hurt. Unfortunately many fanartists have taken a liking to it and insert it in every fanart piece out there

Nice, I'm looking forward to that. I'm playing System Shock 1 for the first time and I'm having fun playing it. Trying to figure out what to do in the first level area. I destroyed the CPU nodes and enough cameras to get the security level down to 6%. There's one hidden door I still can't open yet blocked by the security. I marked it on my map. I should mark a lot more things on my map. It's easy to get lost.

Listen to all the logs, especially D'Arcy's, and you should get a general idea of what you have to do. Dropping the security level to 0% usually isn't necessary, mostly just for collecting everything.

Item Drops as you mentioned are also dependent on difficulty. I went through the first 3 or 4 levels without a machinegun cultist dropping a tommygun in difficulty 4. And the only life essences I was finding were pretty much placed or scripted ones.

I never had a problem with the dynamite guys, it was the fact they were surgeons with those shotguns and would fire the instant you came around a corner.

It was pretty much just the Arachnotron and Spidermind that had a fix applied, as their huge hitboxes caused errors with hit detection with the fist and chainsaw. You could probably argue that the wide span of their legs makes it hard to reach for hitting the parts that actually matter, and that'd kinda sorta make sense, but on the other hand, you could also argue that it doesn't.
Anyway, it wasn't intended behavior, and just kind of happened due to oversight.
Personally, I like the fix.

All that said, other unintended behaviors were the Voodoo Doll effect, and the Revenant's rockets are only heatseaking on random, as an oversight makes it randomly skip making them homing; they were actually intended to always be homing, but the behavior was never fixed, as the end effect was better.

There's sourceports which have fixed those bugs, and nobody liked that. In my opinion, I think things like these should be a compatibility option, just like many other monster behaviors.

We had those challenges in the earlier game. I was thinking that instead of brainlessly just running at the enemies when they flash and pressing X to win, it would be something more like an active system where you'd have to first evaluate the demon's health, then attempt the attack and be tested somehow. The lower the health, the easier the glorykill but might give lesser rewards as well. Instead of doing the glorykill on every enemy, you'd have to build up some rage meter or something to perform it.

Also, what if there was a homebase, and during your gameplay you would come across a non-hostile baron of hell. If you stayed your trigger finger, you could invite her to your homebase and participate in interesting dialogues about the history of hell and such, giving great glimpses into Doom's lore.

Sverre Kvernmo and Dr. Sleep are great mappers, but their Master Level submissions are just not good, and the rest of the submissions aren't very strong either.
TNT Evilution, though flawed, has far higher highs than the Master Levels, and generally higher lows than the lows of the Master Levels, (though Habitat is probably the worst iwad level).
Plutonia just shits all over the Master Levels in every regard, that can't even be argued.

It's an extremely weak product in my opinion, I'd rather play like the 32X, Atari Jaguar, or Gameboy Advance ports of the original game, because at least those have good levels.
