Depends. If I want to get lost in a game, I go for a platformer or something involving cars and colliding into people - Driver 2 isn't a bad choice, Crazy Taxi, racing games, etc. FPS can do the trick.

If I want to avoid my problems, I go for an RPG to stimulate thought.

The video game industry sucks for the same reason movies and music sucks... Freemasons control the entertainment industry. They ruined video games by placing a strong emphasis on storytelling, because it was a better vehicle for delivering propaganda. There's such a divide between mechanics and story these days, and it's not even funny. Your can't even put a fucking disc in, without it requiring an update. I don't even think they're even finished products by the time they got the shelves. I also can't see dlc ever going away. People these days are so fucking add, and spoiled, they could care fucking less about it. Here's a small list of games I've beaten and enjoyed since I've owned my ps4.

Steam has been steadily growing over the past few years and new games have been coming out continually and nonstop. You'd have to be a total retard not to acknowledge this and a total console fanboy to simply ignore it like that.
PC gaming has not been "dead" for 10 years as you claim and it is even possible that it's even much more alive than console gaming makes you believe.
We get tons of indie games every month and I'm not even talking about pixel graphics rogue lite games. Steam gets a bunch of nice FPS games, RPGs, RTS, TPS, Open-world games all the time.
We have MOBAs like DotA and LoL making the platform popular. Shit like Fornite, Dauntless, PUBG and a shitton of other games like that (that coincidentally, consoles are trying to imitate with BF5 implementing a similar mode to the franchise) only keep PC gaming alive. You can go on twitch or even youtube stream right this fucking instant and you'll see tons of people streaming from their PCs while playing on their fucking PCs.
We also get a lot of console titles that are multiplatform AND tons of old console games that are not being ported to PC to either revive them or revisit them in HD like the Tales series or the Resident Evil series.
Saying that PC gaming is dead is the most fucking absurd comment you can ever make at this period of time with so much shit going on.
