This for sure. The GBC spinoffs of Lufia, Star Ocean, and Grandia are criminally overlooked and a real shame they never got brought over to the west. Amazing handheld RPGs. Unfortunately Star Ocean is still French only I think.

Also I liked Azure Dreams GBC better than the PS1 version, but that's a pretty commong suggestion for a GBC game.

100% true; No Nintendo handhelds until the DSi have it. GB, GBC, GBA, and DS have no region lock at all.

the problem with Lufia III are the dungeons and the inventory system. The combat mechanics are awesome, but those random generated towers are awful boring, and the menus are dreadful, almost as bad as the first breath of fire.

DX has some censorship. Only few details, but I prefer the old version. Because I bought it day one and played and re-played it during years.

Censorship details : Miss Hippo's boobs, the mermaid's bikini and I may forget other ones.
