Do you think FFVI's ending would have been more impactful if Terra died with all the Espers like it was originally intended?

I don't think it would be very fitting. It would betray the fact that she isn't just an esper.

No. I wasn't very invested in the story by that point anyway so having her die would have just seemed like try-hard edginess and at best really disappointing way to end a 40-hour videogame story for teenagers.

Her fading away might have been sad or tragic and made for a more bittersweet ending, but how does the word 'edgy' apply?

>> No.4813483

>>4813336
No because the war orphan kids at the resistance cave need her.

>>4813481
Because there's no point to making it a sad or bittersweet ending.

Seems pointlessly sad.

Stop gaping at me like that you fat drooling fuck.

There's no consequence for having Terra die. It doesn't make the story better unless you just want a sad ending for its own sake. That's why it's try-hard edginess.

...she doesn't die?

spoiler, no, she just loses her morphing powers.

I always interpreted the ending to mean she died...wtf?

I doubt that.

On one hand I think it would have fit in well with her discovering what love is. She learned to love the world and the people in it so she gave up her own life for others, but at the same time she isn't a full esper and like other people have said, it would have been pointlessly sad.
