I found that cart with a broken NES (that just needed cleaned) in the trash on the curb the other day. Nigga, is you fo' realz?

>> No.480968

I bought a mint condition copy with the dust sleeve and manual for $1 at a car boot sale.

I don't even collect NES stuff.

>> No.480981

I think the original Duck Hunt might be worth $40 if it came with instruction manual and box but not the Duck Hunter+Super Mario Bros cartridge though which i am sure never had a box.

>> No.480998

shit, i just paid $75 for mega man 3, metroid, ghosts and goblins, and metal gear.

i thought i was getting ripped off.....

>> No.480995

Last year I saw one for $2 at a local pawn shop.

>> No.481160

>> No.481256

>mfw i saw a mexican booth indoors once that had $200 and $500 super mario world carts right next to each other.
>mfw I mentioned they forgot a decimal and they were dead serious about the prices

That place had to be a drug front, HAD to be.

If by "complete" you mean with the NES CiB, sure.

Otherwise, no.

>mexican
Did you ask if they meant 500 pesos? Cause' that's like $5 US.

No, it was dollars....

People who actually pay that price.

>> No.481389

>>481334
It´s around 40 usd actually.

>> No.481392

lol I remember when the local vidya stores were selling this for less then 50 cents.

>> No.481409

I went to a "retro game store" today. It wasn't a stall but I feel I should put this here anyway.

I go to this store once every few years because their prices are always the most ridiculous I've ever seen. Let's see what their prices were this year!

-Earthbound (cart only): $380
-Megaman X2 (cart only): $160
-Final Fantasy 7 GH (cib): $80
-Final Fanyasy 9 GH (cib): $60
-Zelda: Ocarine of Time (cart only): $80
-Megaman X7 (cib, but every copy there is extremely dirty and low quality box. Yes, I know this isn't retro but this game is a good indicator of a company's greed): $50
-Tetris GB (cart only): $30
-Columns GG (cart only) $15-$20 depending on condition
-Mario 3 (game and box only, no manual): $110
-Gamecube Memory Card (new): $60

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. Actually while I was in the store, I overhead an employee talking to the owner/manager saying that Earthbound is coming out for VC so maybe they'll need to drop the price "a bit" on their carts (indicating they had more than one despite displaying only one). The manager said "I don't see why, we never dropped the price on any of the other retro games we sell that have digital copies now". This place is maximum greed. If you live in or ever visit (god forbid) Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, make absolute sure you avoid the store "Just For Fun". Truly the most outrageous prices, even if I bought a game from ebay with shipping included it would often be less than their prices.

>> No.481469

I found Megaman X and SSF II turbo CIB at a thrift store for $10 each but i only had my debit card, by the time i came back from getting cash out they were gone.

I saw them the following weekend at a flea market for $70 each.

>> No.481484

Is there any good retro game stores in Edmonton or Alberta? All the ones down here in Calgary are absolute shit.

One that I went to for the first time this weekend actually disassembled their N64 cartridges and only displayed the front plate.

Fuck... 40$ I remember seeing those games going for .09 at funcoland. it's so freaking common of a game.. holy shit people are greedy fucks

>> No.481510

>>481485
It only came with the NES action bundle, why would funcoland be selling it loose?

>> No.481509

>>481409
Are you fucking kidding me. $80 was what OOT was worth when it came out.

>> No.481536

>>481409
Tetris for $30 nigga what

>> No.481531

>>481484

There really isn't any good game stores in Edmonton or Alberta. It makes me sad because I used to live in Japan and was so used to getting used games, retro or not, for dirt fucking cheap. Here, for some reason, Mario 3 is worth 50 bucks by itself, but in Japan it's worth 5 bucks.

>> No.481548

>It's extremely common
>You can't play Duck Hunt without the peripheral
>There are tons of ports of SMB

Odds are if you had an NES, you had that game.

>> No.481552

>>481485
better question is why even bother to sell something for .09? it makes no sense at all, it is only going minus.

I know, the FF9 copy really made me mad. They had like a stack of about 15 copies, all of them used, all of them priced at $60. I bought a copy of FF9 from SE directly for only $10 new (Christmas sale). It made me sick to my stomach.

In that stores defense, I did see one fair deal, and only one. Viewtiful Joe 2 for $10. That was all.
