If there was no Jesus in that universe then there would have been no Christians to appropriate the Pagan symbol. Without Christianity providing a playbook for Mohammedans on co-opting Judaism, Islam would also not exist and would have never oppressed the indigenous religions that consider the Ankh sacred. The real reason is because you can see Blaze's panties when she jump kicks. Her panties are white, and it contrasts with her original red outfit. So Sega of America simply changed her outfit to silver so that you don't notice her panties any more. They also changed the outfit colors of Axel and Skate so that Blaze's color change doesn't seem so arbitrary.
