Do we still have these threads? I checked the catalogue and didn't see one.

This time I've got something a little different. Not a game I played, but an ad I saw for a game.

It was in an early-to-mid 90s gaming magazine. Possibly Gamepro or EGM.

The ad was like a big stone wall with a face on it. The face had a bunch of veins or roots surrounding it and on the floor. In front of the face was a dude with his back turned to you, he made have had a sword.

>> No.478721

ok so it was a pc rts game from the mid 90s. you played as ether humans or greys type aliens. there was an opining cut seen of a human shooting an alien in the head and it popped like a watermelon. i only had a demo but i kinda want to see that cut seen again

>> No.478763

Here's one I haven't gotten an answer for in the multitude of threads I've asked in.

The game was on either the Genesis or SNES. It was a 2D platformer, really colorful. There were a lot of different characters and you automatically switched between them at various stages of the level. The characters all had a circus theme. There was a seal that bounced a ball on his nose, and you had to keep it from touching the ground. There was also a character on a unicycle, as well as a starfish that held a bucket full of fish food. This starfish character was in one of the included minigames where she fed fish that would get scooped away on hooks if you weren't fast enough.

This is all I remember. There are a few other details I have faint memories of but I'm only outlining things I'm sure of so nobody gets confused. I rented this game a decade ago and I really want to play it again. I need a hero.

Nobody has been able to get this the last couple times I posted it here, but here I go!

It's a game. Maybe DOS, maybe Apple II, definitely an older computer game. An adventure game. All text parser, but with minimal graphics. Might have even been a learning game. You're in a house. You have to find all the pets in the house. You know stuff like "Move Couch" to find a dog hidden behind it or "Open closet" to find a cat. Except there's this dragon. I can't remember if there was a warning for the dragon or if he appeared in hiding places at random. If you found him, though, I believe it was game over. I played this in 98 or so when I was in the second grade, but the game is much older than that. Resembles Demon's Forge for the Apple II in appearance and execution for reference.

I've been wanting to find this game for years now. I've googled everywhere, looked through tons of games, but have yet to find it.

Please, help me.

There was this game I played on PC as a kid. The game was a pretty average mech combat game. The storyline was what I remember the most.

Humanity discovers a warphole in space, and uses it to explore far off areas of space. One is discovered to be habitable. Over time, life on the colony is vastly different from life on Earth.

One guy creates a religon around the warphole, and it gets pretty big. People worship the wormhole and follow the word of this one psycho as word of god. The head of the religion starts claiming the wormhole is going to close, and tells his people to start hoarding. Lo and behold, the wormhole closes, war breaks out on the colony, start game.

The game world consisted of tiles (mostly brownish ones that were supposed to be sand) and you could move udlr.
You had no weapons as far as I remember, but you could plant TNT (?)
If you went over a tile containing sand, it turned (and stayed) black. You had to get from point A to point B while zombies (which I think could only walk on black tiles) chased you.
And there was this green mossy stuff that would spread to adjacent empty tiles and kill you if you touched it. It might have been combustible.

I remember it was somewhat a dark game, with a diagonal perspective (very similar to Diablo 2 with Direct3d) the main character was a bald mage but there are other characters to play too. I don't remember the gameplay, but you controlled that character in a open area, and the objective of the game was to defeat another 6 or 8 players, finding potions and weapons. Hey anons, when I was a kid, I used to play this game with my cousins that scared the shit out of me. I think it is for SNES. It's about a boy that, iirc, go into a distant planet to fight gooey-like aliens (kinda like a skinny venom, from spiderman) so he can rescue his dog. It is a little mature, no blood (I think) but the kid usually dies in disturbing ways, like being pulled into a dark alley and eaten. I think the kid wears jeans, white shirt and a baseball hat. I also think he had some kind of zap gun.

Breakout-style DOS game.
It was rather colourful and had lots of powerups, e.g. beer that made it harder to control or green slime that would stick to the paddle. It also had a boss battle every 10 levels where you would fight some green dragon (if I remember correctly) in a shoot 'em up style space level. The whole battle took place in one screen and you could fire missiles from what I remember.

Umpteenth time I've posted this. My hopes remain undaunted.

It was an adventure game for PC that played sort of like Eye of the Beholder. As in, first-person, static perspective, some grid-based movement, puzzle solving and distributing inventory between party members that all behaved as one group. Turn-based combat was featured, though was not the primary mechanic.

The story opened on board a space station, where some computer got all SHODANy, named itself "the Overlord", and decided to destroy humanity by sending down genetically engineered aliens. The hallways you started in were very, very green. I think "Shadow" or "Force" might have been in the title, though I'm not sure.

Pic related, a very rough reconstruction of the first screen as I remember it.

Hey /vr/

My game is a actually a collection of games from when i lived in america around 1996-1997.

So the game was made up of about 50-60 smaller games and the overall content had a microsoft windows theme to it like flying toasters.

Some of he more memorable games where Rock paper scissors where the rock the paper and the scissors fought in a three-way battle on the screen

A labyrinth game where you can set size and complexity.

A game where you control a paper airplane as it is thrown through a house (avoiding hazards and such.)

there were many different games but I cannot remember anything else that stood out.

Anyone know it?

Here's a tough one that's been scratching at the back of my mind for the better part of a decade:

It's an old PC adventure game from maybe the late 80's or early 90's. It's most likely text-command (like the Hugo games). Takes place in the far past (maybe fantasy world?). I only remember the first few screens of the game; it starts off in either a ruins area or castle area. One of the first items you can pick up is a sword. I don't recall getting any further than that.

It's not any of the Hugo games or LucasArts games. Pretty positive it's not a Sierra game either. It might be an old European game.

It was on the genesis. it was a robot fighting game set in space, on the surface of various planets.
you could build your robot out of three kinds of parts (i think? heads, bodies, and feet) all of which had different attributes. like tank tread legs that let you move faster if you knew the combo.

I had this as part of a genesis rom collection for the PC - late 90s? bought it from a PC fair for £3. so happy with that purchase.

>DOS or very early windows but probably DOS
>Adventure Game
>Looks between King's Quest 3 and KQ5 graphics wise

I only remember the ending because I would load the game from my brother's saves. I did this multiple times for fun because I was a dumb kid.

But, when loaded, the character was in some kind of straight 2D From-one-side-of-the-screen-to-the-other-vent. I think you crawled from right to left. The exit led to another screen with the final boss in it. My memory is that it is some kind of wizard and more specifically, his blown up head. I would always try to use a bunch of items on him for shits and giggles. But, I think the answer was just to use a wand you may have had to pick a spell on the wizard and voila, the game would be won.

I hardly remember anything about it, but it was a first person shooter for the PS1. The setting was relatively modern, dark, industrial. The only enemy I can remember was what I believe were guys in armor that had these weird jar helmets.
