I never got past the second table as a kid. Recently played with a rewind-enabled emulator and have a git commited savestate on the third one where I don't know where to go. Maybe I'll give it another hour before consulting a map.

Revenge of Shinobi is a challenging game. But I can one-man it pretty easily. There are much harder games than Revenge of Shinobi on the Genesis, IMO.

I could never get past that second table in Sonic Spinball.

I'm an actual autistic person and will play old video games till I beat them no matter how tedious or time consuming. I'm not proud of this fact.

Sonic Spinball is the hardest (mass produced by a serious publisher) game I've ever played. By a wide margin.

Agreed, the lack of control is what makes it so hard. In a normal game you can actually control where your character goes, but in spinball you have to repeatedly try to hit Sonic in the general direction of your target and hope he makes it there which is stressful as fuck.

You have to keep sanic in place and line where you shoot him. There's a guide for everything anyway, it's not a difficult game to memorise

I do wish someone would expand on the Spinball concept of exploring beyond the table. They really fucked up "regular Sonic's" physics, but switching between being "regular Sonic" and a "Spinball" is neat.
